YouthGoTravel Goes to Queensland

DSC_0014“Why do we fall, Sir? So we can learn to pick ourselves up,” is the word of wisdoms from Alfred Pennyworth or Bruce Wayne’s butler that I always take for granted. In the end of 2015, I got invited to the Australia Awards’ IELTS test and interview session. I was very sure that I would nail this opportunity, yet unfortunately the result wasn’t exactly what I had expected. At the end, I believe that everything has been scheduled and planned well in my life by my God and the universe. All I need to do is knocking the doors and see which ones are open to explore and from where I will meet new exciting people!

YouthGoTravel Goes to Flanders

visit flandersI realize when you think that you want to grow more, sometimes you must move on. This year, the biggest thing that I have to let go is my full-time job. The job which allowed me to travel with a minister and gave me the first real press trip. Eventually, I decided to resign last month and to focus on my future plan. No good result from scholarships that I had applied for yet. I am a bit worried about financial issue to study in Europe with my own savings, though. I try my best not to ask my parents for sponsoring my studies, however they always try to help me with some stuff. I believe that I have learned enough in the last 3 years to work hard and seize up my opportunities.

Festival Palang Pintu

festival-palang-pintu_18052015p1 I am in learning process to run my ice cream business which I consider to be quiet difficult but also fun. By doing this business, I meet new people and participate in fun events. On 6th to 7th June, I sold my ice cream in Festival Palang Pintu in Kemang, South Jakarta. The result of my selling wasn’t as good as I expected but I gained new experiences, learned how do better promotion next time and had good time with my mom and friends.

Lasting Friendship with a Sweet Belgian Girl

548158_3609694967407_805311712_nFew weeks ago, I had a terrible traffic accident. The culprit ran a way with his motorcycle leaving me with a broken side mirror. I was terribly in shocked. As a person who has anxiety disorder, sleeping isn’t the best way to forget a problem. Inevitably, my middle name changed to insomnia that night…Around 2 AM, I received WA messages from my half-Belgian twin, Emma.  I knew that she was very busy with moving into her new apartment and PhD research about Alzheimer. That’s why I was fully excited when she contacted me and arranged Skype meeting while being vulnerable that night. They say, you will notice the best people in your life when you have connections every time you need them. I can’t agree more…

That small chat continued to time machine which brought me to beautiful memories from the first time I knew her to the days when I visited her twice in Belgium. First time, it was a special occasion to visit her in her hometown and the second one I stopped by during my Euro Road Trip. Continue reading

Queen Lessons at Pisa Kafe

8That day, Ibu* Shofa who was an acquaintance who has turned out to be my best friend, invited me to eat. Certainly, I never say no for free food! Indeed, she let me choose the place. I was in the mood for Italian food. To be honest, gelato was the first thing came up in my mind. Funnily, she actually craved for Fettuccine with Cream Sauce . Maybe that’s why, we were already connected somehow. We chose Pisa Kafe which is located in Menteng, Central Jakarta due to location and its specialty of Italian cuisine.

*Ibu means mother or Mrs in Indonesian language.
